This blog is a record of the Scott Family adventures and the universe in which these adventures take place.
The Scott Family in this context is made up of Eric, Erica, Sterling, and JohnBoy.
It took us a few months but we FINALLY had our housewarming party! Our hat box was starting to collect some dust so we thought it was time to introduce Sterling to "Hat Night" and he loved it!
Sterling had his 6-month physical/check-up recently...along with another series of vaccinations (ouch). He was a trooper, even more so than usual, and he also continues to grow at quite a pace:
Length: 28.5 inches (97%) Weight: 20 lbs 11 oz (95%) Head Circ: 18.5 inches (99+%)
He has a gigantor Scott-noggin' to be sure. Methinks Erica is not lamenting the C-Section anymore...ay, caramba.
He is a happy and healthy baby boy, and we couldn't be more thankful.
We celebrated Susie's 30th (teehee) birthday at the Tavern. What a great place! Cool ambiance and jazzy tunes. We had some delicious food/ wine and even did a little dancing. Happy birthday miss Susie/ Nana! We love you!
My mom Shari took Sterling and I to Artful Adventures when she was in town for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun! Sterling wasn't quite sure what to think about getting his feet painted but after some coaxing and singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" he went along for the ride. Shari painted the plate and I painted the picture frame for Sterling's room. I'll definitely be going back. Thanks again Shari!
Sterling tried his first "real" food today - in the form of home-made organic peas (mushy style) - I don't think he appreciated his initial vegetable excursion very much...judge for yourself...
Thanksgiving 2008! We had Thanksgiving at our house this year and had a great time! Erica's parents Kent and Shari drove up from Grand Junction. They were excited to spend some time with Sterling and he had a terrific time entertaining them with all his new tricks. Eric's parents Stuart and Susie joined us for Thanksgiving dinner and we had a blast...thanks for all the great wine Stuart! At the end of the weekend Erica's family came down from Cheyenne and Denver to meet Sterling and have lunch. Sterling loved hanging out with his great auntie Kathy and cousin Kim! What a busy and FUN weekend! On Sunday night we all went to bed at 7PM! :-)
Thanks to a little assistance from my BeBe Pod chair and my boppy pillow I can sit on my own! With this new found independence there is only one drawback...I drool everywhere! Mommy has been kind enough to now dress me with the latest and very coolest baby accessory....hip bibs!
We headed over to Sterling's Nana and Avi's house to watch the Bronco vs. Browns game and thought if we all put on our Bronco best they just might WIN a game. Sure enough it worked! GO BRONCOS!
Congratulations Megan (Eric's sister) and Jared! It was a magnificent night! The wedding was held in Black Forest at The Pinery, which is a very cool location. It was, in fact, voted "The Best Place to Get Married in Colorado Springs" for 2008 by the Independent. The weather was the CHILLY but beautiful. We had a wonderful time and Grandpa Snow and Grandma Sha-Sha were nice enough to come up for the weekend and watch Sterling.
Sterling's first Halloween was so much fun! We loved our lion costume, even though it was 70 degrees and the outfit was designed for 30 degree weather. Sterling never complained and enjoyed watching his cousins run from door to door. Our good friend Dawn was kind enough to lend us her video camera so we have some of the fun recorded. Here is the short You Tube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQkU7dxPIRk
I finally made it back to Kansas City to visit friends and family. It was the first trip back since Sterling was born in June. It was also Sterling's first airplane adventure and he was an angel! I was so relieved. It was wonderful seeing everyone and very exciting introducing Sterling to all his new friends. Sterling loved all the attention. We spent Halloween with my parents and sister's family and took all the kids trick-or-treating. We had a great time. Eric unfortunately had to work so he kept an eye on things at home and SLEPT IN. :-)
We finally found a photographer and had Sterling's 3 month pictures taken. The pictures are fab! If you want to see the website is http://www.collages.net and the Username is Sterling at 3 Months and the password is 17573. Our next photo shoot is at 6 months which will be a lot of fun. We're planning to bring our Halloween outfit. :-)
Brrrrr! It's getting cold! The leaves have fallen and it's already snowed. I can't say I'm ready for the change in weather but we wanted to make sure Sterling was adequately prepared. His tante Megan and uncle Jared bought Sterling his Nanuk of the North hat in Vail when they were on their honeymoon....and it fit perfectly!
Sterling continues to grow at an astonishing rate! He weighed 18 lbs 4 oz and measured 27.5 inches at his 4 month well check appointment. He's a BIG boy!
